Getting started
Add the people and dates you want to track in Family. Today brings together tasks and things worth preparing for; Mentioned holds things you want to remember. Assigning an item is your private reference — the app does not send it to your partner.
The app is available in English and 20 other languages. It follows your selected app language in iOS Settings. AI responses also use that language.
Purchases and restoring access
The app is free to download and includes free household planning features. Mental Load Premium is US$30 · One-time purchase, with no recurring subscription. The exact US App Store lifetime price is US$29.99. US base price; local pricing is shown in the App Store. View on the App Store.
Existing lifetime owners keep Premium; existing subscribers retain access through their paid period. Manage any existing subscription in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Premium does not include Pack Money, and no free Pack Money upgrade is promised.
If access is missing, use Restore purchases with the Apple account that made the purchase. Restoring purchases restores access, not household data. Use your iCloud backup separately to restore lists and notes.
Pack Money is a separate product: US$25 once for one household. It does not include Mental Load Premium. Its optional connection to The Mental Load is read-only and does not grant Premium access.
Mental Load + Pack Money bundle
US$50 one-time purchase in The Mental Load iPhone app, including Mental Load Premium and one Pack Money household. Standalone purchases do not include both products.
Existing Pack Money customers can connect their household; no need to buy another household. No upgrade discount or cross-store purchase entitlement has been announced.
The Mental Load + Pack Money — Now connected
Bring selected bills, spending, savings and category limits into The Mental Load’s Money tab. Choose what to share from your Pack Money household. The connection is optional and read-only.
Manage financial records in Pack Money. Completing a reminder in The Mental Load does not record a payment or change your transactions.
Bought the pack in The Mental Load?
- Open Money → Set up Pack Money.
- Complete the owner sign-in in the household opened by the app, then choose household currency and time zone.
- In that household, open Setup & connections → The Mental Load. Choose what to share and connect the app using the available connection button or connection details. Follow the displayed instructions.
Already own Pack Money?
- Sign in to your existing household. Open Setup & connections → The Mental Load → Connect a device.
- Choose the information to share and the connection expiry.
- In The Mental Load, open Money → Already use Pack Money? Connect and follow the connection instructions.
No second household purchase is required for your existing household. Connecting is optional; your accounts are not linked automatically.
Apple purchase and Pack Money sign-in
Your Apple purchase identity and Pack Money sign-in email are separate. The emails do not need to match, including when you use Hide My Email. To restore the pack, use Restore purchases with the purchasing Apple account, then recover and reconnect your existing household instead of repurchasing.
Keep passwords, receipt keys and connection tokens private. Support does not need them. Telegram and compatible iPhone SMS capture are optional; manual entry works without either.
No bank SMS? Pack Money works with manual entries and supported imports. Follow its setup and Telegram guide, or explore Pack Money. Pack Money is a separate purchase and does not include Mental Load Premium.
Birthday plans and task costs
Create a local birthday plan, record costs for its tasks and review what remains in the plan budget. Recording a plan cost does not write a transaction into Pack Money or change its category limits. Reopening or deleting a task keeps recorded spending until you explicitly correct or remove that expense.
iCloud backup and a new phone
Enable iCloud backup in Settings, then choose Back up now before changing phones. Use the same Apple account on the new device and restore the saved household when offered. A restore replaces the current household with the backup, so check which copy you want first.
For the Pack Money connection, imported reminders and local notes are included in backups; its access token and money summary are excluded, so a restore requires reconnection. Use Delete iCloud backup to remove the app-managed cloud copy; deleting the app alone does not remove it.
Email forwarding
Enable forwarding in Settings and send a school email, appointment or other dated message to the private address shown. Review extracted dates before adding them. For automatic forwarding, create a rule on your mail provider’s website; iPhone Mail does not create that server-side rule.
If nothing appears, check the address, allow processing time, then refresh the inbox. An email without a clear date may produce no results. Check forwarding rules with your mail provider and regenerate an exposed address. Disabling forwarding sends a request to remove the address and pending results; keep the app online so the request can be sent. For confirmation of server-side deletion, contact [email protected]. AI, offline use and privacy
Saved lists work offline. AI, weather, email forwarding and iCloud backup need internet access, as does the optional Pack Money connection. An AI error or allowance limit does not delete your saved household.
AI requests may include family context, eligible tasks, notes or selected documents. Suggestions after adding a task can also use AI. The connection excludes imported Pack Money reminders and money summaries from those requests and reads them directly from your household service. Optional backup is stored with Apple. Notifications and dates
Check notification permission and Focus settings if reminders are missing. Calendar, microphone, speech and location permissions can be changed separately in iOS Settings. Approximate location is used for weather prompts.
Check dates extracted from photos, PDFs, email or AI before relying on them. Keep the original source handy for school, medical, travel, visa or payment deadlines. The app helps you prepare; it does not verify a provider’s deadline or make a payment.
